Video released of Helzberg jewelry smash-and-grab at First Colony Mall

HOUSTON – Sugar Land police have released surveillance video of two men wanted in a jewelry store robbery earlier this week at First Colony Mall.

The surveillance video shows two men with their faces covered entering the Helzberg Diamonds store just before 5:40 p.m. Monday. Police said one man displayed a handgun and the other used hammers to smash a display case. The men left with watches and other jewelry.

No shots were fired, and no one was injured.

The two suspects were last seen running toward The Cheesecake Factory, then got into a gray sports utility vehicle and drove off.

According to police, the suspects may be responsible for a similar smash-and-grab robbery of Zales Jewelers in Willowbrook Mall.

Anyone with information should call the Sugar Land Police Department at 281-275-2540 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477).
