Deputies responded to a welfare check about 1 a.m. at Trevino's home in East Harris County. Trevino's father called police after speaking with his daughter on the phone. He told authorities that she dropped the phone during their conversation, and when she didn't retrieve it, he became concerned.
When deputies arrived, they found the front door open and were greeted by Trevino's 5-year-old son. Trevino was passed out on the kitchen floor from a prescription drug overdose, deputies said.
Trevino's other two children, an 8-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy, were asleep. All three children were handed over to their grandfather.
Trevino is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $2,000 bond, according to court records. Her first court appearance is set for Thursday.
