MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A Montgomery County man charged with two counts of online solicitation of a minor was sentenced to 10 years of probation Wednesday.
According to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, John Russo, 44, was first arrested and charged in July 2013 when authorities said he solicited sex from an undercover investigator posing as a 16-year-old girl. The DA's Office said Russo sent multiple sexually explicit messages and requests and showed up at an agreed location with condoms.

Russo posted a $100,000 bond and was released from jail. One of the conditions of his bond was that he could not access the Internet for any reason.
The DA's Office said that in May 2014, while Russo was out on bond, he again solicited sex from an undercover investigator who was posing as a mother and 15-year-old daughter. Authorities said Russo agreed to meet the mother and daughter for sex and he was arrested when he arrived at the location.
Russo pleaded guilty to both charges of online solicitation of a minor.
Prosecutors requested a lengthy prison sentence for Russo. Ninth District Court Judge Kelly Case gave Russo 10 years of probation with no fine. He will undergo sex offender counseling as part of the probation.
