Mayor Parker to start Sunday Streets partnership with Cigna

HOUSTON – Mayor Annise Parker is set to announce the 2015 Cigna Sunday Streets line up and a new partnership with Cigna on Friday. 

The mayor's office said this new partnership will ensure that the Sunday Streets Houston program will become a tradition for years to come. 

Sunday Streets Houston is an initiative to improve the health of Houstonians by providing a family-friendly opportunity to be physically active.

In 2014, on the first Sunday of each month in April, May, and June, a stretch of street was closed for people to walk or cycle down the block while visiting the many businesses in the neighborhood.
