RICHMOND, Texas – The man who murdered American sniper Chris Kyle and Kyle's friend Chad Littlefield is being detained in the Houston area.
According to records from the Texas prison system, Eddie Ray Routh is now in the Jester 4 Psychiatric Unit in Richmond.

Routh is undergoing diagnostic evaluation, but prison officials can't say how long Routh will be staying at the facility.
Last month, Routh was found guilty of murdering Kyle and Littlefield and was sentenced to life in prison.
