Houston Rodeo World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest winners annouced

HOUSTON – The grand champion for the HLSR World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest was the Across the Track Cook-off Team.

HLSR said the first runner up was Iowa's Smokey D's BBQ followed by the Ram's Club.  The 2015 contest received a record number of 419 entries, according to a release from HLSR.

The winners for other categories are as follows:

Brisket

• Champion – Hill County Go Texan
• First Runner Up – Xtreme Texas Cookers
• Second Runner Up – Waste Management Two Steppers

Ribs

• Champion – 100.3 The Bull
• First Runner Up – Fowl Feathered Cookers
• Second Runner Up – Texas Trail Tramp

Chicken

• Champion – Across the Track Cook-off Team
• First Runner Up – Iowa's Smokey D's BBQ
