SPRING, Texas – Parents are asking questions after learning a teacher at Dueitt Middle School in Spring was removed from the classroom. The reason? Allegations of inappropriate behavior.
"What the heck is going on at this school?" asks mother Jessica Dunn. "Was it my daughter's teacher? What in the world is going on?"
Parents and guardians learned of the allegations Friday afternoon through automated phone calls and also through email.
The notice from Spring ISD reads in part, "As soon as we were notified of the allegations, the teacher was immediately removed from the classroom and reassigned to non-school duty. Please know we take all reports of inappropriate behavior seriously and are focused on ensuring that the priority for students is teaching and learning."
The district has not released the details of the behavior but the case has some parents feeling uneasy.
"If it's any kind of touching or that type of behavior," said Jessica Dunn, "I don't want my daughter to go to that school."
Parents also were told a qualified substitute teacher will take over the class for the time being.
