HOUSTON – Investigators believe a deadly shooting in southwest Houston may be connected to another shooting at a nearby bus stop.
The deadly shooting happened at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night on Twin Hills Drive. Pak Ho, 34, was shot and killed while out for a walk near his apartment. "He left at 6:30 to exercise and said he would be home at 7:30," said Ho's mother. But her only child never returned.
Witnesses reported seeing the shots fired from a dark SUV that sped away from the scene. Ho's mother believes her son was targeted for cash, even though she says he was unemployed and the most he could have had on him was $20 to $40. "He was at the wrong place at the wrong time," she said.
Just a few hours later at a bus stop near Gessner and Bissonnet, Donald Ashford, 50, was waiting for his wife, when he was shot multiple times. Video surveillance from a nearby McDonald's shows a dark SUV leaving the scene.
Ashford was taken to a hospital, but he is expected to survive.
Police said the suspect in the shooting may be related to a different shooting that happened at a METRO bus stop on Bissonnet.
