Matthew McConaughey to deliver University of Houston commencement address
HOUSTON – Actor Matthew McConaughey will give the inaugural University of Houston commencement address at TDECU Stadium.
The Academy Award winner will speak in front of nearly 5,000 U of H students at the university event on May 15.
"We are delighted and honored that Matthew McConaughey has agreed to give the first Commencement address in our beautiful new football stadium," said University of Houston President Renu Khator, noting that his father, "Big Jim" McConaughey, once played college football at the University of Houston.
McConaughey, a Texas native, has appeared in more than 40 feature films and established the jk livin Foundation.
