HPD offers $5K bonus to new recruits in 2015

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department is offering up a cash incentive as it looks for new recruits. 

"Mayor Parker approved us to pay a $5,000 bonus to the next three cadet classes, and we hope we can continue with some type of hiring incentive," said HPD Chief Charles McClelland on Thursday.

Members of the 2015 cadet classes for February, May and June will get $2,500 after they start the academy and another $2,500 after they graduate.
