Aunt hopes to gain custody of nephew Achilles Lambert

HOUSTON – There are new developments in the case of a woman found murdered and stuffed in a refrigerator.

The victim's sister is now trying to get custody of her 11-month-old nephew  Achilles Lambert. Achilles and his father Patrick Lambert are still awaiting extradition in Mexico.

Local 2 spoke exclusively with Achilles' aunt Anita Oalikhena via Skype. She told us her biggest fear is what will happen next to her nephew.

"I'm stressed," she said. "The Lord is my strength. It's really frustrating. My passport has expired. I have booked an appointment."

Both Patrick and Achilles were found in Mexico last week and have not been brought back to Houston yet.

"According to the FBI, the guy I spoke with, they will be coming to America," Oalikhena said.

Custody over Achilles remains up in the air. We spoke with Houston police and Child Protective Services. Both told us that until the baby is returned to the U.S., custody can't be worked out.

In the meantime, Anita is working to get a passport and vista to get to the U.S. as soon as possible.

She says she must get custody because Achilles' grandparents aren't in good health.

"They have already lost a daughter and I have lost a sister," Anita said. "The only thing I can do for her to be happy with me is to take the child."

Anita says she's been worried about her sister's safety since August when they last spoke. She says her sister had told her she was in a violent relationship.

"He always threatened her," she said. "He always threatened to kill her."
