FBI: Crips gang member wanted in robbery of Pasadena credit union

No description found

HOUSTON – Authorities are looking for a dangerous criminal they say took part in the robbery of a credit union in Pasadena.  Sonny Floyd Pervis is a wanted man and authorities are hoping to get him off the street as soon as possible.

Authorities say Pervis is a member of the "52 Hoover Gangster Crips" and has a lengthy criminal history.  Authorities say he added to his rap sheet when he and three others robbed the Shared Resources Credit Union on July 28.

Authorities say three armed and masked gunmen entered the credit union and robbed the employees at gunpoint.  They fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, but a citizen followed them.

One of the bank robbers saw the citizen tailing them and began firing shots from the vehicle.  The suspects then switched from the stolen vehicle to a waiting getaway car.

By that time, Pasadena police caught up to the suspects and a chase began.  The robbers fled north to Houston and exited into the Settegast neighborhood in northeast Houston, where they crashed. The three robbers and the getaway driver bailed out and began to flee on foot, but one was captured.

The other three remained on the loose.

On November 17, a coordinated effort by the Pasadena Police Department, Houston Police Department and FBI resulted in the charging of Pervis. Pervis is believed to be hiding in the Lakewood neighborhood of northeast Houston or possibly in Louisiana. Authorities say he has a large tattoo on his chest with the words "Crippin Ain't Easy." Pervis is suspected of being connected to numerous violent bank robberies throughout the region over the last year.

Pervis' past convictions include burglary of a habitation, assault of a family member, aggravated assault, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, criminal trespass and evading arrest.

Pervis' most recent mug shot shows him with braided hair, which officers believe he still has. The other mug shots show his tattoos and how he may look with shorter hair. Law enforcement requests that anyone with information please contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
