Woman who drove SUV into restaurant being sued in another crash

HOUSTON – Local 2 has learned the woman who drove her SUV into a southwest Houston restaurant is being sued in another crash that happened last year.

Nearly a dozen people were injured when 72-year-old Joanne Jones crashed into Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet on Kirby Drive on Nov 5.

Court records show Jones caused a three-car collision in December 2013 after admitting she failed to hit her breaks and rear-ended a driver.

The day after the crash at Dimassi's an attorney filed a civil suit against Jones for the 2013 accident.

Police did not ticket Jones for the restaurant crash.
