Texans assistant coach: 3 Super Bowl rings taken from house

HOUSTON – Texans linebacker coach Mike Vrabel was the victim of a burglary Saturday, according to his Twitter account.

Vrabel won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and says his three championships rings were taken in the burglary.

The burglary happened at 11 a.m. at Vrabel's Bellaire home, according to the Bellaire Police Department.

"To all the Houston area pawn shops: 3 super bowl rings are headed your way. Courtesy of the (redacted) who smashed our back door in," Vrabel said on his Twitter account.

Vrabel's wife, Jen Vrabel said in a tweet that the family was attending their son's basketball game during the burglary.

Vrabel had a 13-year career in the NFL, spending the majority of it with the Patriots. He also had stops with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs.

He was an assistant coach at Ohio State from 2011-2013 until being hired by Bill O'Brien to be the linebackers coach for the Texans.
