Google's latest project: Pill to search your body for illness

HOUSTON – The newest concept from Google? A pill to search your body for cancer. It might be years before we see the pill in use, but research is already underway.

It's Google's latest project: A pill that would test for cancer and other illnesses. The company says it's working on a pill containing microscopic particles that can travel through the bloodstream and search for malignant cells.

The particles could then report their findings to a sensor device that you wear.

Google says the nanoparticles can be magnetized and coated with antibodies that bind with specific proteins or cells. This is still in the early stages of research.
