SPRING, Texas – An emergency meeting was held for faculty at Spring High on Monday afternoon to talk about handling internal issues in-house and not out in the public.
This comes just a few days after Local 2 first told you about a teacher who claimed to have been assaulted on campus and then posted about it online.
The teacher also wrote on Facebook that he resigned and walked out during the middle of the day after being assaulted.
"On Friday we had four separate fights. It's not safe, it's a scary place to send your kids," a Spring teacher who doesn't want to be identified told Local 2.
The Spring Independent School District does not have a teachers union but the president of the union in Houston, Gayle Fallon, says more and more Spring High teachers are trying to leave Spring ISD and move to Houston because they don't feel safe on the job.
"It was one of those districts teachers wanted to get into, now they are fighting to get out. We have Spring teachers who have come into Houston and they feel safer," Fallon said.
We have requested total police calls for service over the past two months at Spring High but those statistics weren't provided. Meanwhile, the investigation is still on going about the alleged assault last week. The district says the story is much different than how the teacher described.
"We have no evidence that the student physically assaulted the teacher," Spring ISD said.
