Pasadena remembers Phillips explosion on 25th anniversary

PASADENA, Texas – Thursday marks the 25th anniversary of the explosion and fire at the Phillips Plant in Pasadena. It was a series of explosions that rocked the plant near the Houston Ship Channel in 1989.

It took 10 hours to bring the fire under control. Twenty-three employees were killed and more than 300 were hurt.
