HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating a burglary of a Spring Branch area barbecue restaurant that was all caught on video.
Police responded to a burglary alarm at Aunt Pookies Barbeque restaurant at 1450 West Sam Houston Parkway at 4:15 a.m. Thursday.
Surveillance video showed thieves using a crow bar to break through the front glass door. Four masked and gloved culprits searched the restaurant and broke through two office doors to get to the safe, then carried the safe out. The safe had about $2,500 in it, according to the owner.
The owner said he only has cameras on the inside of his restaurant, so he does not know what the men fled in.
The owner said this is the second time he has been broken into after being in business since 1998.
The case is being investigated by the Houston police burglary and theft division.
