HOUSTON – Police are searching for a suspect after a man was found shot to death outside a gas station last month.
On the night of Sept. 14, Houston police responded to 15135 Old Humble Road regarding a man found unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds, lying in the parking lot. The victim, 26-year-old Gerardo Hernandez, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.
Surveillance video from the scene showed the suspect got into the passenger side of Hernandez's vehicle, according to investigators.
A few minutes later, police say a black four-door vehicle pulled up to the rear of the building where Hernandez was shot, then fled the location westbound on the service road of the North Sam Houston Parkway toward Highway 59.
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male with a dark mustache. He was wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants and white/black Jordan brand basketball shoes.
Anyone with information in this case or on the identity of the suspect in the surveillance video is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
