Man arrested in shooting death of good Samaritan in east Harris County

HOUSTON – Homicide investigators have arrested a man believed to be responsible for last month's murder of a good Samaritan in east Harris County.

Dondre Williams, 22, was arrested Monday morning and is charged with murder in the Sept. 12 shooting death of Mark Anthony Horton.

Horton, 49, was attempting to stop what he believed was a robbery in progress in the 700 block of Frankie Street when Williams allegedly shot him.

When deputies arrived to the scene, Horton was dead.

Williams is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
