Student who attends Stovall Middle School died off campus

HOUSTON – Houston police have launched an investigation into the death of an Aldine ISD student.

The student, who attends Stovall Middle School, died off campus.

Sources told Local 2 the body of a young man was discovered Monday near the reservoir in the 1800 block of Sherwood in west Houston.

A woman walking her dog stumbled upon the gruesome scene and dialed 911. Investigators now know the victim was a Stovall student.

Parents whose kids attend the school received word Thursday through an automated phone call. Administrators will be bringing in counselors for anyone who needs to talk about what happened.

Other students who were familiar with the case told Local 2 the victim is a 14-year-old boy who was in the eighth grade.

No information about the students name or cause of death has been released. The case remains under investigation.
