Crews search for cause of Pappas BBQ restaurant fire

No one injured

HOUSTON – Crews are searching for the cause of a Pappas BBQ restaurant fire in northeast Houston.

The fire broke out at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday at the  Pappas BBQ on Little York Road near Highway 59.

When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke and flames emanating from the back of the restaurant.

Officials said once the fire reached the attic, the flames spread quickly throughout the building, causing crews to pull a second alarm.

Aldine, Little York and Westfield fire departments all came to assist.

Officials said the flames were too well-established for an offensive fire fight from inside, so the crews decided to go on the defensive and fight the flames from outside.

The restaurant was closed, so no one was inside at the time of the blaze.

No injuries have been reported.
