East Houston - TX – A huge hole was left in the side of an east Houston Radio Shack after suspects smashed a van into the side of the building on Wednesday morning.
It happened around 4 a.m. at the store on Lyons Avenue near Lockwood Drive.
Authorities said the suspects left the scene after they crashed a white van with handicapped plates into the store. They believe the van was stolen.
The Radio Shack manager said she could not initially tell if anything was taken from the store because of the mess left from the hole.
Byron Thomas, who works nearby, said the scene looked like something out of a movie.
"When I came out and I saw what was going on, and I was like ‘ooh, what happened,'" Thomas said. "I heard ka-boom, ka-boom, and like I said I am used to hearing the trains collide. You know, clunk together and that's what I thought it was."
The Houston Police Department is investigating. There was no surveillance video at the store.
