Body found in movie theater parking lot, gunman on the run

HOUSTON – Houston police were searching for a gunman, after a man was shot and killed in a movie theater parking lot.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots outside Greenspoint Mall around 12:30 Friday morning.
When police arrived, they found a young man's body in a parking lot on the east side of the mall. According to investigators, he died from a gunshot wound.
Witnesses told police that before finding the victim's body, they saw another man running from the direction of the shooting. Police only describe him as a black man wearing dark clothing.
The victim's identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Investigators say individuals were in the parking lot, near the theater, when the shooting occurred. Any witnesses who left at the time of the shooting are asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. Anyone with information about the case or the identity of the possible suspect(s) is urged to contact the Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
