Unattended stove blamed for apartment complex fire
Fire damaged four units
No description foundHOUSTON – An unattended stove is to blame for a fire at a southwest Houston apartment complex.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sterling Crossing Apartments on South Kirkwood near Bellaire Boulevard.
When firefighters arrived, they said they found heavy fire coming from the two-story building.
Firefighters immediately pulled a second alarm because the fire was already in the attic and spreading quickly.
Four units in the complex suffered fire and water damage.
Firefighters said a man who was cooking left the apartment to check on his kids outside, that's when the fire started.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
