Police: Man poses as legal consultant, steals from clients

HOUSTON – Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man accused of portraying himself as a legal consultant and representative of a well-known Houston-area law firm.
Jeffrey Wayne Wilson, 34, is charged with credit/debit card abuse and stealing more than $100,000 from a client.

According to victims, Wilson charged them thousands of dollars after telling them he was a legal consultant for a large Houston-area law firm.
One victim said Wilson used her debit card number for unauthorized personal purchases for himself.
Investigators believe there are other victims of Wilson's alleged foul play. The victims are asked to call the HCSO's financial crimes unit at 713-967-5770.
Wilson is being held in the Harris County Jail with no bond.
