Crews repair damaged gas line in Kingwood

KINGWOOD, Texas – Crews are have repaired a leaking gas line at an apartment complex in Kingwood.

The gas leak was reported at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 3900 block of Rustic Woods Drive.

Officials say a three-inch gas line was leaking.

The Houston Fire Department said residents at the Oaks of Kingwood Apartments were evacuated while a hazardous material team investigated and worked to cap the leak.

CenterPoint Energy crews were also called to the scene. 

HFD officials said the gas leak was declared under control just before 11:30 a.m.
