Buffalo Hardware going out of business after 68 years

Owner plans to retire

HOUSTON – The going out of business sale has started at a well-known independent hardware store near River Oaks.

Buffalo Hardware is shutting its doors after 68 years in business.

Jim Brown, the owner and son of the original owner, has decided to retire.

He had hoped to sell the store on the corner of Westheimer and Kirby, but could not find a buyer.

Buffalo Hardware opened at 8 a.m. Thursday with very large discounts.
