Thief arrested after targeting woman's purses at Rosenberg restaurant

ROSENBERG, Texas – Rosenberg police say the man who was seen on surveillance video stealing a woman's wallet has been taken into custody.

Last week, Local 2 told you about the incident that happened inside the Gringo's restaurant in the 24000 block of the Southwest Freeway. 

Police said the suspect wore a button down shirt draped over his shoulder, which he used to conceal that he was reaching into a handbag hanging on the back of a woman's chair. 

Police said two women inside the restaurant were the victims of the crime on the same day.  

The suspect then got their wallets and used their credit cards to make charges. 

Rosenberg police Wednesday announced the arrest of Devairr Shanklin, 47, who faces a charge of credit/debit card abuse.
