Free Metro rides
You can catch a ride on Metro by bus or rail free all Labor Day weekend. The free rides are on all light-rail and local bus service routes through Monday, September 2.
Free Houston's Day of Yoga
Houston's free day of yoga will be Monday, September 2 at the Rothko Chapel Lawn, 1450 Branard St., near Menil Park. Opening music starts at 9 a.m. with free yoga classes running through noon.
Free Bass Pro Shops Hometown Festival
Bass Pro Shops are holding free hometown festivals Saturday and Sunday, August 31 and September 1. There will be free seminars on grilling and smoking meat and cooking outdoors with a dutch oven plus free games, hot dogs and homemade ice cream for the kids.

There will be free fireworks and live music in the Woodlands at Waterway Square, Saturday August 31st.

Free performance by the Golden Dragon Acrobats Friday, August 30, 8 p.m, Miller Theater. The Golden Dragons are recognized as the premier Chinese Acrobatic Touring Company according to the Miller Theater website. Show time is 8 p.m.
Free haircuts for veterans, active military, first responders
Free haircuts at The Visage Salon & Day Spa every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in September for veterans, active military, EMT's, police officers, firefighters and other first responders. The free haircuts are valued at between $40 to $70. The Visage Salon & Day Spa is located at 11910 Louetta Road.
On Saturday, August 31st, be one of the first 25 people in line at the new Tropical Smoothie Cafe at 7am or 5pm and win free smoothies for a year (one smoothie a week for 52 weeks). The Cafe is at 5620 West Grand Parkway South in Richmond.
