Boil water notice issued for Bolivar Peninsula residents

No description found

PORT BOLIVAR, Texas – Residents on the Bolivar Peninsula are under a boil water notice.

The Bolivar Peninsula Special Utility District said there was a break in a water line between Winnie and High Island. When something like that happens, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires such districts to notify all customers to boil water.

Residents need to boil water before drinking it, cooking with it, or making ice. This will destroy any harmful bacteria that might be in the water. Make sure it is cooled before you drink it or consume it any way.

The Bolivar Peninsula Special Utility District said the line was repaired Thursday morning; but, the boil water notice will remain in place until test results on water samples are returned.
