Patrons at the Hobby Center in downtown Houston got a special treat on Thursday

HOUSTON – It's not unusual to see KPRC's Gary Striewski on a field or in an arena for a sporting event, but patrons at the Hobby Center in downtown Houston got a special treat on Thursday.

Striewski took to the stage with a walk-on role in Theatre Under The Stars production of 'FLASHDANCE - The Musical.'

He performed in the "I Love Rock & Roll" scene with Tess, a scene that takes place in Harry's Joint.

You can spot him as one of the guys wearing a plaid shirt and jeans.

Early reviews for his debut stage performance are very favorable.

No word if Striewski plans to pursue a stage career.

'FLASHDANCE - The Musical' is based on the movie that tells the story of Alex, a working-class girl from Pittsburgh who is striving to make her dreams of becoming a professional dancer a reality.

The musical runs through June 16.
