HOUSTON – A man was fatally shot after he broke into a north Harris County apartment, deputies said.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said the incident happened at the Augusta Apartments on 12655 Kuykendahl Road.

Investigators said a woman and two other men tried to break down the door of the apartment around 9:30 p.m.
The woman was complaining the tenant owed her money, officials said.
Deputies said one of the men busted a window of the apartment out and made his way inside. That's when the tenant, who had a gun, shot the man in the chest.
The man's friend and the woman took him to the hospital before emergency crews arrived, investigators said. He died at a hospital.
The tenant was not hurt.
Officials have not said if any charges will be filed against the tenant.
