HOUSTON – Two men were in custody Monday after Sugar Land police said they were led on a chase through Fort Bend County and across Harris County.
The chase started around 1:30 a.m. when officers said they spotted three men in a stolen car and tried to pull them over. The driver did not stop and instead, sped off, officials said.

The chase went north on the Southwest Freeway, into downtown Houston and then on the Eastex Freeway in northeast Houston.
The chase ended when the men got off the freeway on East Mount Houston Road and then turned onto Spottswood Drive, which is a dead-end street.
The car crashed into the woods and that's when the men started running, officers said.
Two were caught by officers, but the third managed to get away.
Police said the men are suspected of burglarizing cars in the Sugar Land area. Their names were not released.
