TIRR Memorial Hermann ranked among best hospitals

HOUSTON – Houston's TIRR Memorial Hermann is being recognized as one of the nation's top rehabilitation hospitals in the annual U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Hospitals" rankings.

This year, TIRR Memorial Hermann ranked at No. 3. Last year, it was No. 4. The 2012 rankings mark the 23rd consecutive year that TIRR has stood among the top five rehabilitation hospitals across the country.

"It is an exciting day for TIRR Memorial Hermann to be recognized as one of the three best rehabilitation hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report," said Carl E. Josehart, CEO of TIRR Memorial Hermann. "We are thrilled to move up another spot in the rankings, which displays the continued innovation and dedication of our physicians and staff to advance the field of rehabilitation."

This year's Best Hospitals showcases more than 720 of the nation's roughly 5,000 hospitals. Fewer than 150 are nationally ranked in at least one of 16 medical specialties.

Several other Memorial Hermann hospitals were also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as "high-performing" in certain specialties, including, Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center for nephrology, cancer and other specialties. Memorial Hermann Katy and Memorial Hermann Memorial City were also recognized for orthopedics.
