'One-eye bandit' robs northeast Houston bank

HOUSTON – A man dubbed the "one-eyed bandit" held up a bank in northeast Houston, officials said.

Investigators said the man handed a teller at the Capitol One Bank at 19610 Tomball Parkway a threatening note demanding money on Sunday at 12:20 p.m.

The man had an eye patch or gauze covering his left eye. He also wore sunglasses, according to the surveillance pictures.

The robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white SUV.

He was only described as a black man, about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He wore black sunglasses, a white T-shirt and blue shorts.

No one was injured during the crime.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477). A $5,000 reward is being offered in the case.
