Pearland teens accused of vandalizing football stadium

Officials: Pair caused estimated $50,000 in damage

PEARLAND, Texas – Two Pearland teens, including a former football player, are accused of causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to a high school football stadium.

Investigators said Jorge Flores, 18, and former football player Anthony Lowe, 18, both from Pearland, broke into Pearland High School's Rig Football Stadium on May 21.

Once inside, police said the duo stripped sections of the artificial turf from the center of the field and dropped them in the stands before taking off.

Officials estimated the damage to the field to be somewhere around $50,000.

According to a news release, both teens turned themselves in Tuesday night on warrants for criminal mischief, a third degree felony.

Officials said an anonymous tip led to their arrest.
