Officers are looking for 19-year-old rapper Jordan Q. Wilson.
According to police, Wilson rapped with a group call F.D.A.B., but left to start his own group.
Police said he was jealous because his former crew was getting too popular without him.
A war of words began on Twitter, but turned into real violence, police said.
Officers said Wilson got into a fight with Toyrean Young in the fast-food restaurant's parking lot. Wilson fatally shot Young, detectives said.
The shooting has left neighbors stunned.
"That's very unusual, especially on this street. It's pretty quiet around here," said Roshanna Kimbel.
Police narrowed down their suspect after the victim was able to say his name before he died from the gunshots.
Anyone with information regarding Wilson's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
