MISSOURI CITY, Texas – Missouri City has hundreds of dollars in unclaimed money and wants to help reunite some citizens and companies with their forgotten funds.
The unclaimed money comes from court bonds, recreational refunds, and vendor checks.

City officials said the amounts range from 1 cent to $500.
A number of issues such as companies relocating, individuals moving, and addresses and phone numbers being changed have prevented staff from reimbursing the monies.
State law requires the City's Finance Department to secure the unclaimed checks and try to locate their owners.
To see if you, your family members or business are owed some of the missing money, contact Accounts Payable at 281-403-8500 or accountspayable@missouricitytx.gov.
Citizens should be prepared to provide the following information: name, social security number, date of birth, driver's license number, and last known address.
The City can provide information on claims dating back to 2009; however, requests for years prior need to be handled through the State's Unclaimed Property division at 512-463-3120.
