Police: Woman chases ex-boyfriend over credit card dispute

Children were inside each car during chase

DICKINSON, Texas – A dispute over a credit card led to a high-speed chase with children inside each car.

Shane Cailleteau said his ex-girlfriend, Christie Marshall, accused him of stealing one of her credit cards.

Cailleteau said he had Marshall's permission to use her credit card.

"I had her credit card and I was running around town doing all these errands, picking up food for the party and stuff like that," Cailleteau said.

Cailleteau said he gave Marshall, 32, her credit card back, but she picked a fight on Saturday. He said that was when he buckled his 4-year-old daughter into his car and drove off.

Dickinson police said Marshall strapped her youngest daughter, 4 months old, in a car seat and chased after Cailleteau.

"She swerved at me and completely ran me off the road," Cailleteau said. "I almost lost control of my vehicle."

Cailleteau said he managed to get back on the road and tried to shake Marshall, all while calling police.

"The cops were asking me, 'We need to know a landmark. We need to know where you are at so we can meet you.' I was like, 'We're coming up on Highway 3 at Hughes Road. Meet me at the Valero. When I slowed down to pull into the Valero, that's when she just … she just hit me with her car," Cailleteau said.

No one was hurt in the wreck.

Marshall was arrested. She has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Cailleteau said he was shocked that Marshall would do something so dangerous, especially knowing children were involved.

"I knew I was trying to protect me and my daughter, but what was she thinking with her own daughter in the car?" Cailleteau said. "She completely disregarded my life, my child's life and her own child's life."
