HOUSTON – A man accused of breaking into apartment complexes and stealing dirty underwear, electronics, jewelry and dogs was convicted Thursday of burglary of a habitation.
Abel Martinez, 32, was accused of breaking into four single women's apartments on West Road near Beltway 8. Authorities said Martinez would enter the units while the renters were away.

Martinez stole electronics, jewelry, kitchen items, clothing, including underwear, shoes, and in at least two cases -- dogs. Investigators have since recovered some of the stolen items, including the two dogs.
Martinez was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said Martinez may be response for at least half a dozen home burglaries last year.
