The newly opened Pavilion for Women has been designed as an environment in which caregivers can do their best work and in which patients will feel comforted. The building itself is based on the latest concepts of evidence-based design, which recognizes the environment as a vital part of therapeutic treatment, helping to promote overall health and well being. In a beautiful, soothing setting, and equipped with the very latest in technology, Texas Children's Pavilion for Women, now providing outpatient services with inpatient services opening in spring 2012, will soon be the health care facility of choice for expectant Houston families.
A sweeping circular sky bridge connects the new building with the West Tower and Clinical Care Center, allowing rapid access for additional specialized care. Beyond providing a physical link between buildings, the bridge also serves as a symbol of the full continuum of care that will be available to women, mothers and their babies at Texas Children's Hospital when inpatient services open in 2012.
