PASADENA, Texas – Teresa Potter never thought her trip to CVS would include a confrontation with a robber.
She said she was sitting in the passenger side of her car in the CVS parking lot in the 3200 block of Spencer Road in Pasadena while her daughter and granddaughter ran inside. Potter said she heard something hit the driver's side window.
"The first time he hit it, he didn't hit it hard enough to go all the way through," said Potter. "So I just thought they parked the car too close."
But seconds later, Potter said a man punched through the glass and grabbed a cellphone lying on the seat.
"It took me by shock, it really did," said Potter. "That's when I started screaming and trying to honk the horn."
She said the robber then noticed her purse and lunged back in to grab it.
"I had a cake in my hand and my purse was at my feet," Potter said. "I was just trying to hold on to the purse and honk the horn at the same time."
She said the man started hitting her in the face. He snatched her purse and left in a tan, late model car.
Potter ran inside the store screaming for her daughter and collapsed on the floor.
"She was pretty shaken," said her daughter Charlotte Williams. "She was really dazed and confused."
Potter was treated and released from the hospital. Soon after the attack, a man tried to use her credit card at a store on West Road in Houston. Cameras caught images of the suspect. Potter said the same man attacked and robbed her.
Pasadena police are investigating.
