Investigators said the case began on March 13 when they were called to Medina's home in the Wallis, Texas, area on a domestic violence case between Medina and his wife.
Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said Medina's 9-month-old daughter had suffered a fractured leg and wrist. Deputies said they referred the case to Children's Protective Services for an additional investigation.
Deputies said a pediatric doctor confirmed the child's injuries were signs of abuse.
Medina is being held in the Fort Bend County jail with bond set at $200,000.
If convicted of the first-degree felony, Medina could face 5 to 99 years in prison.
