Community activist accused of posing as lawyer

HOUSTON – A community activist has spoken out against claims that he illegally posed as a lawyer and even hired a client.

Jonny Binder, also known as Minister Jeremiah, claimed he was an attorney was in court Friday.

After the hearing, he spoke with reporters. Binder disputed the claim and said he has never called himself an attorney.

"I'm just a freedom fighter. I fight for the poor people, and the poor people are going to come and speak that," Binder said.

Binder's case is in the hands of the grand jury and he has not been formally charged.
