HOUSTON – Smash-and-grab thieves targeted a jewelry store inside one of Houston's most popular malls.
The Ben Bridge store at Memorial City Mall was robbed about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday.
The store's manager said three men wearing all black clothing used hammers to smash cases containing Rolex watches. He said inventory was still being done, so it was not known how many watches were stolen.
The manager said the robbers did not display any guns and the incident lasted less than a minute.
No customers were inside the store at the time of the robbery, the store's manager said.
There are surveillance cameras inside the store. Video of the robbery has not been released.
On Christmas Eve, a group of men smashed the cases at the Ben Bridge store in the Galleria and stole Rolex watches. Investigators have not said if the robberies may be connected.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
