Man found dead in street identified

HOUSTON – Houston police found a man dead in the street in northwest Houston on Sunday.

Officials said the victim was 39-year-old Kelvin Johnson.

Officers received a call that a man's body was laying in the 8100 block of Lawn Street around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

Houston Fire Department officials pronounced Johnson dead at the scene and discovered he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head.

Police do not have any suspects or motives in the case.

Area residents said they heard gunshots, but no witnesses had come forward.
