Who are Houston's hottest bachelors?

Houston is home to more than one great catch

HOUSTON – There are many eligible bachelors in Houston, but few really have the ladies talking about them.

Everyone knows about Matt Leinart, the Houston Texans' injured quarterback, said Erica Rose, the city's most famous bachelorette. But there are a few other lesser-known gentlemen worth giving a second look to.

"My brother Ben is a very eligible bachelor," Rose said. "He is just turning 27 and I am constantly trying to find girls to set him up with. Every time I go out I pick up new girls for him. He just graduated law school and has an MBA and obviously I think he is from a good family and he is very handsome."

The former "Bachelor" star said she has luck meeting men at her gym, the Whole Foods Market salad bar and even at the airport baggage claim.

"I have met a few there," she said, laughing.

"There are plenty of guys, you just have to know where to find them," said Shelby Hodge, an Editor-at-Large at CultureMap.com.

Hodge said professional groups can be the key to finding bachelors in Houston.

"The energy industry is so big here. You have a lot of engineers and don't forget the medical center with a lot of docs in training," said Hodge.

The medical center is where you will find bachelor Don Vaughn, a San Diego native and Stanford graduate who works in the neuroscience department at Baylor College of Medicine.

At night, he plays the drums in clubs and private events and in between, he models in Houston and Dallas.

"I want someone who is passionate and a little bit dorky about whatever it is they get. It doesn't have to be science. I am a neuroscientist and I am a huge dork and I love that so I want someone who can get that and is dorky and passionate about their own area of life," Vaughn said.

Another Houstonian was named one of America's top bachelors by Forbes. Houston ballet dancer James Gotesky spoke to Local 2 by phone while traveling and said that he looks for the qualities of honesty and forthrightness in a relationship.

The Houston Dynamo bachelor trio of Corey Ashe, Tyler Deric and Sarkodie also leave the ladies cheering, along with Houston Astros bachelors J.D. Martinez and third baseman Chris Johnson.

Bachelor and Houston firefighter Chris Lee, who is Mr. November on the 2012 Houston Fire Fighters Calendar, said he is still looking for love.

"It's not that I don't want to settle down. I just haven't found the right person to settle down with," he said.

Local 2 anchor Dominique Sachse took one of Houston's most eligible bachelors off the market. She and international businessman Nick Florescu will be married in May.

"I think 2012 is going to be the year I find true love," Rose told Sachse. "I can't say if it is with someone from Houston or elsewhere but we will see."
