BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – A state trooper has been indicted on several sexual abuse charges involving a child, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed Thursday.
Davie Crockett Davis, 33, was accused of abusing a 14-year-old female relative over a period of time, DPS said.

Davis was called in for questioning Monday by DPS Internal Affairs, but declined to answer any questions.
According to reports from DPS, from March 2008 to July 2011, Davis engaged in oral sex and touched the victim.
A Brazoria County grand jury charged the former trooper with felony continuous sexual abuse of a child, indecency with a child and tampering with evidence.
The Department of Public Safety said it has initiated termination proceedings against Davis.
