Ex-YMCA employee arrested on child porn charge

Christopher Hilton previously worked as gym teacher

HOUSTON – A former YMCA employee has been accused of trading hundreds of sexually explicit images of children.

Christopher Hilton, 32,has been charged with promotion of child pornography.

Hilton worked at the front desk of the YMCA in the Oak Forest area until he quit a few weeks ago.

The YMCA said Hilton did not work directly with children or pose a threat to any of the kids there.

Police said their investigation started in September. He was tracked down through his computer's IP address, detectives said.

Investigators have accused Hilton of collecting and trading hundreds of sexually explicit images of young children. Detectives said he downloaded and shared images through his computer at his northwest Houston home.

"You can't really judge a book by its cover. He looks normal," said one of Hilton's neighbors. "He doesn't look like he would do anything to a child."

YMCA officials said they do background checks and Hilton's record came back clean.

Before he worked at the YMCA, Hilton was a gym teacher at a private school.

Hilton will appear in court on Monday.
